Hilux Vigo pickup, bakkie, ute and Toyota Fortuner SUV share much of each other DNA. The Fortuner wagon, like the pickup, uses a rugged ladder frame chassis and coil-spring front suspension with a double wishbone configuration, but for the SUV Toyota developed a four-link coil suspension set-up more appropriate to a luxury wagon.

Although the Fortuner 4×4 comes in at considerably lower pricing than Toyota’s Land Cruiser models, it’s very well specced. Three rows of seats provide accommodation for five adults and two kids, and the second and third rows can be folded, flipped and generally manipulated to provide loads of space for luggage.

Brand New 2016 2017 Toyota Fortuner and 2012 Toyota Hilux Vigo have been released and are available on sale at Thailand’s top 4×4 dealer and exporter Jim Autos Thailand and all its subsidiaries. Toyota Fortuner 4×4 is a Sport Utility Vehicle that has the performance of its Landcruiser Prado cousin and grace of its Landcruiser cousin but at a much smaller price.

The front end is where a lot has changed including the grille, the headlamps and the bumper. The rear end has also undergone a makeover and so has been the interior.

The new 20111 2014, 2015 Toyota Fortuner now looks more bolder than the earlier version especially with the huge chrome grille with horizontal slats. The headlights get new projector lamps alongside conventional lights. The fog lamp housing has also been redesigned along with the front bumper which gets a scuff plate as well. Now the old Fortuner looked bulbous from the front which is not the case with the new model.

The new Fortuner retains the brute front end look with the lower side of the front fascia now being more flatter than the old SUV. Toyota has also got rid of the side cladding and replaced it with a nice muscular element. In profile the car is instantly recognizable though. At the rear, a redesigned bumper has been added and so has been a new tail lamp cluster. The new clear lense tail lights get an integrated, circular brake lamp as opposed to a rectangular one on the outgoing model.

The interior has also undergone a subtle makeover, the major change being the center console and the steering wheel. The old version had an interior which looked pretty similar to that of the Innova MPV. In the new version the dials too are new giving it a more fresh and unique feel.

Sporty and sleek

Filling the market gap between Toyota’s high-end Hilux Double Cab Vigo, Toyota RAV-4 models and top-end luxury SUVs like the Land Cruiser Prado, the Fortuner’s overall appearance is sporty and sleek. This is due to the fact that the design team focused on creating a well- proportioned vehicle with a flowing style.

The cab is placed well forward to create a masculine yet easy-on-the-eye look, while rearward sloping pillars and a wraparound rear windscreen provide the illusion of a vehicle that is wider than it actually is.

Seating comfort is more car-like than anything else. Two sports-type bucket seats are provided in front, while the second row of seats provides space for three adults. Sliding rear seat means room to stretch legs

One of the main drawbacks of smaller SUVs is that in some cases legroom for rear passengers is at somewhat of a premium. Three 2008 Fortuner models in the range

A five-speed automatic transmission is also available, but only mated to the 3-litre diesel engine.
