In Thailand, the Honda CR-V has 4 versions: 2.0S(2WD), 2.0E(4WD), 2.4EL(2WD), and 2.4EL(4WD). All versions come with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Navigator, DVD, and rear-view camera are standard equipment for 2.4EL(2WD) and 2.4EL(4WD) versions. The version with 2.0 engine has 150 Hps at 6200 Rpms, while the version with 2.4 engine has 170 Hps at 5800 Rpms.

2006 Honda CRV: Honda releases CR-V at Bangkok Motor Expo 2006

Bangkok (29 November 2006) – Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Thailand’s second largest manufacturer and exporter of passenger cars, aims to draw visitors’ attention to two of its flagship auto products – the all-new sportier CR-V and 2007 Civic – displayed at Honda’s booth at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2006.

Mr. Hiroshi Toda, President of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., “We are confident that the all-new CR-V with a more luxurious interior will stir excitement in the Thai auto market. It has been a long time since a revolutionary new SUV arrived that really lifts the standards of customer expectations in this segment.”

The 3rd generation Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle, with a starting price of Bht 1.18 million, is aimed at professionals who need a vehicle that can perform triple duty as a daily car, a family car and a car for an active outdoor lifestyle. The latest model has been completely re-designed to offer SUV practicality but with more car-like driving dynamics, greater comfort and a more luxurious interior.

The all-new CR-V is available in three versions with two different i-VTEC engines: a 150-horsepower 2.0-litre engine, and a more powerful 170-horsepower 2.4-litre engine, both with 5-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control. All models are equipped with dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) that selectively and independently brake the wheels to improve braking stability.

The entry model, the CR-V 2.0 S with front 2WD, is priced at Bht 1.18 million, while the CR-V 2.0 E with Real Time 4WDTM is priced at Bht 1.28 million. The CR-V 2.4 EL with Real Time 4WDTM, the top-end model, has a price tag of Bht 1.47 million.

The 2007 Honda Civic, with a starting price of Bht 780,000 million, is available in two versions: 2.0L i-VTEC and 1.8L i-VTEC delivering 155-horsepower and 140-horsepower, respectively. With a dashing sportive appearance in attractive new Taffeta White, black tone interior, sportive fog lights and new design alloy wheels, the 2007 Civic is likely to draw customers’ interest and extend its ‘best-seller’ record into the new year.

Honda launches all-new sportier, more luxurious CR-V

Bangkok (27 November 2006) – Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Thailand’s second largest manufacturer and exporter of passenger cars, today unveiled the all-new Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle. The 3rd generation Honda CR-V is completely redesigned to offer SUV practicality but with more car-like driving dynamics, greater comfort and a more luxurious interior. The new CR-V targets professionals who need a vehicle that can perform triple duty as a daily car, a family car and a car for an active outdoor lifestyle with prices ranging from Bht 1,180,000 to Bht 1,470,000.

Mr. Tatsuhiro Oyama, President and CEO, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., said, “The new CR-V is one of our most successful global flagship models. Since 1995, around 2.5 million CR-Vs have been purchased by customers in 160 countries, and 50,000 in Thailand since 1997.”

He said the new model aims to set new driving comfort standards for an SUV and was launched to favourable reviews in the U.S. in September 2006 and in Japan in October 2006. According to Mr. Oyama, in the U.S.A, 20,000 units of the new Honda CR-V were booked by U.S. customers within the first month of launch.

He said that Honda’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Thailand is designated as one of the global sites to produce the all-new Honda CR-V.

Mr. Hiroshi Toda, President of Honda Automobile (Thailand), projected sales of the new CR-V to reach around 8,000 units during the first year of launch in the Thai market.

Thailand’s total vehicle sales during the first 10 months of this year were 539,782 units of which around 4.3%, or 23,333 units, were SUVs. Honda’s CR-V is among the top five best-selling SUVs in the same period.

Mr. Pitak Pruittisarikorn, General Manager of Business Administration & Marketing of Honda Automobile (Thailand), said that the launch of the new CR-V will be supported with a budget of Bht 80 million, utilising television commercials, print advertising, radio spots, and an online commercial at www.honda.co.th/crv.

“Our marketing activities will appeal to both genders, as the new CR-V is targeted at both male and female drivers. Commencing on 27th November (today), a new television commercial with the theme of ‘Redesign Your Life’ is being aired on television channels 3, 5, 7, 9, and ITV. The commercials are designed to help our target customers appreciate the features and functions of the new CR-V that we believe are particularly attractive to Thai motorists,” he said.

* The Honda CR-V 2.0 S comes with front 2WD and features 17-inch alloy wheels, door mirror with side turn lights, leather interior, tilt and telescopic power steering, cruise control, a 6 CD MP3 + aux music system, and a security alarm system. It is priced at Bht 1,180,000.

* The Honda CR-V 2.0 E is priced at Bht 1,280,000 and comes with Real Time 4WDTM, has lower garnish in metallic gray, fog lights, rear sensors, dual zone air conditioning, cruise control, and steering audio switch.

* The Honda CR-V 2.4 EL is priced at Bht 1,470,000 and comes with a 2.4-litre i-VTEC engine, and Real Time 4WDTM as well as being luxuriously appointed with HID headlight that have auto on-off and auto-levelling, chrome door handles, an 8-way driver power seat, 6 speakers, auto rain sensor wipers, and i-side airbags.
